CLASSIC TOUR OF VERONA
This is the perfect tour if you are visiting Verona for the first time, starting from the roman Arena, with its mighty arches that recall the memory of the heroes of the past, the gladiators and arrive at the present day, where "bel canto" can be heard in summer in the largest open-air theatre in the world.
We will discover the Piazza delle Erbe, with its history, its fountain, its frescoed houses and its testimonies of the past, the Piazza dei Signori with the palaces and the funerary monuments of the Lords of Verona, symbols of ancient power. Our itinerary continues along one of Verona's most famous streets, with its atmosphere of the past... to reach the roman Stone Bridge, Ponte Pietra. From here, the view opens up to the hills from east to west, we can see the remains of the city walls that protected the medieval Verona, the ruins of the Roman Theatre remind us of the entertainment of the ancients, the barracks of Castel San Pietro and the forts in the distance prove the military role of the city.
And then the river Adige, which today flows within the banks of the early 20th century, lets us imagine the glorious past of this city, born thanks to the beauty of the landscape and its strategic position as "a little Rome" at the foot of the Alps.
And, of course, at the end we will not miss the most famous balcony in the world, Juliet's balcony.
